Hoh

The painting went south this week so I revised this one from 08. I changed the angle of the dead tree, which came to seem wrong in the last year. An advantage and drawback to having images of all my work on a hard drive is it allows for endless reconsideration and revision. I`ve killed more than one painting by 'fixing' it, but here I think it`s better.
This is the Hoh Rainforest on the Olympic Peninsula.

You really amaze me! Those brushstrokes actually ripple. Why?

(That's a rhetorical question; please don't ruin things by explaining them.)

I haven't commented much lately, but I certainly enjoy each and every visit to your blog. You seem to have an infinite store of creative expression.

I am so far behind (and I'm usually not) in coming here.

The effect you achieve with the water is wonderful. Whatever the "fix" you made, I like it.

The effect of light in this painting is also beautifully achieved.
