From the Foothills to the Peaks

This kind of abstract 'mythic' looking landscape was also what I was painting about 20 years ago. I lived near the mountains in New Mexico and traveled throughout Colorado. I was obsessed with those high altitude vistas. Now I paint swamps, creeks and fog.

So cool.
I'd absolutely take you up on your offer to help you move and get one of these in return, except...I live in one of those high-vista places, and...I sure do hate packing and moving stuff.

Both high up in the cool air and low down in the hot swamps seem so true to what they are. Which do you prefer?

wow, what a vista.........the expanse of it all. Gives me the essence of the beautiful area of the world.

Ah, those voluminous yellow clouds. I'm always transfixed by them. We were locked into a park in Hawaii once because we were gaping at bright yellow clouds and didn't notice the closing time. Beautiful!

Abstract but still recognizable.

The painter you are now is in these earlier paintings. I really enjoy "exploring" them.
