Red Dune

This is a little ten year old watercolor I just now got a good photo of. I`ve been visiting family across the river in Washington, now I`m home and ready to paint.

This is striking indeed. And new to my eye. You have such a special way of handling the color red, and how the color here bumps up against the black and blue and white, with those twinges of yellow-orange peeking through, is just wonderful. I could look at this all day.

Well, it must be striking because that was my description before I read Maureen's description! Perhaps I'll use fascinating instead - don't want to copy :)

I find myself returning to this painting when I visit your blog - it is very compelling, unusual, interesting.
