Autumn Slough Study


After a session last night on my big canvas of the cliff, I did this small study. I liked it and immediately began a large version.

I love this! It's just stunning, Randall. That blue against the greys and brown-oranges just rivets the attention.

Ah, that blue... you really have a way with that hue. It's partly why I am so taken with A Corner of the Park. Lovely.

Well, this settles it. You are a genius with color. That blue next to the gold accent! It's more than knowing color theory. It's in your DNA! The delicate composition with that strong blue focus and reflection pack an emotional welling up in me for which I have no explanation.
