North Shore

Again.
I`ve been living with this painting in my bedroom and think it was the best thing I did in my residency at Sitka. It`s subtle but I got what I love about a northwestern beach in winter.

I think you got it, too.

It's lovely: simplicity, beauty, almost starkness.

I can taste the salty wind and feel the surf.

Daring composition. That calm bottom of soft-colored sand and then:BLAM! Dead tree, roots up, rocks, crashing waves . . . Action!

ahhhh this is a masterpiece!!! Very moving piece with that dead tree and the bare sand...it really leaves so much the viewer´s imagination as to what lies beyond that tree..........my mind is spinning......

Subtlety: successful. Limited color pallet- excellent. Great representation of the shore this time of year!
