Early May

This slice of landscape is something I`ve planned to paint since last Spring when I went back to Sitka for my presentation. The winter rainforest that had mesmerized me when I was there as a resident was now nearly in full foilage. Those early greens are so clear and vivid. The forests seemed wildly alive and healthy.

This is a beautiful breath of spring!

Someone must have said this before, but your trees always have such personality and are so anthropomorphic that I could expect them to speak. This painting is an absolute chorus. I see trees in this way as well, so this is enchanting in a real sense.

I feel like I am in amongst these trees...just walking through a never ending forest of beauty.
