Saturday Rain

While waiting for the paint to dry on a new large canvas, I did this.
Like everyone, I`m ready for Spring. Just for the change, and for some color. Last year it began in February but it`s much later this year. Anyone who knows me has heard how I love winter. It`s so true, I could be the Public Relations guy for winter, encouraging everybody to bundle up and just go outside for a walk. You`ll be glad you did!
Now though, I want a sunny day with giant drifting white clouds, 72 degrees, and beautiful scents in the breeze. I`m sure the Japanese were wishing for the same.

I like winter too, but enough already! Constant dark and dreary is making me crabby. As soon as I read your comment I realized that there is an oriental sort of clarity and composition about your work.

This painting is stunning and yes, I agree with Kate, there is an oriental something ot it...

Since I've been living in South Africa (after living 40 years in southern France) I've discovered a whole new way of considering seasons and weather. People love their wet summers, and they are all craving for the rain; when the sky is dark and dull they say "what a lovely weather" with no hint of irony!! And they enjoy their freezing winters too... Search me!

Loving that little piece of periwinkle bluish-lavender near bottom center.
