Cliff Study 1


A daily painting.
Chunks of basalt fall from the cliffs in the Columbia River Gorge. They quickly accumulate soils and decomposing plant life and are soon colonized by all manner of new vegetation.

Fantastic! If you hadn't told me I'd have thought you were keyed into another dimension, another world that's hidden to us mere mortals. Even though I've seen you do it I marvel at how you handle color as one transitions into another. Your paintings are filled with such joy! Well done.
