this is grand, Randall. The feel of the piece reminds me of a childhood picnic when my family would take a picnic lunch to a similar place to escape the Arkansas heat. You've captured that, though I'm sure the place in this painting is Oregon where it's mostly cool anyway.

This is just magic I love the long, low shape: as if the viewer were one of the creatures living in this wonderful place..

I was painting at Leach Botanical Gardens yesterday (in front of a similar but smaller scale scene) doing my best to channel you but ended up with.... mud! You are a magician!
