In between massive though typical fall storms, we`ve had a couple of dry days. What gifts they are!
The forests are muddy and wild with ferns and mosses. And still, some lingering bright maple leaves which are stunning against the blue fog and deep green firs.

You really captured that damp, lush, quietness of the forest this time of year.
it was worth all the trouble....beautiful!
This was certainly worth the continuing work to get it right. I'm impressed by the mood of the piece and especially by the way you stated the magisty of the foreground tree without making it domineering and in-your-face. My tendency would have been to make its color too dark and opaque.
