Bryant Woods Winter

The trees in our temperate rainforests lose their leaves in winter. I am happy for this as I can now see into the woods. There is a visual paradox too which is beautiful, dormant bare trees surrounded by lushly green ferns and mosses.

Love the description. I can never quite make up my mind, however, when the optimal time would be to visit there, as every season you paint is such a draw.

Beautiful! And eerily familiar. A friend's compound is built across a rainforest ravine above Pupukea on the North Shore of Oahu. The stripey trees and the green light there look remarkably like those in your painting.

Beautiful painting. Your trees remind me of people. They have personalities. In NJ and MA where I work, no leaves too, but the green is mainly fir trees and pines.
