I knew of this cove from photos years before I eventually saw it. When I flew over and recognized it, I felt affection, 'we finally meet'.

I think of Kauai as masculine, perhaps because of the visual strength of the NaPali and its visual majesty. Even the water on the north shore makes a statement with its roaring surf and huge waves. You are certainly capturing it in your paintings.
