Plein Air Cottonwoods and Adventure

A couple of hours ago, I was sitting in a tangle of bushes, painting in the shade, using the adorable miniature paint box Jo Reimer made me. I heard movement behind for quite some time and figured it was a cow coming to the little stream for a drink. This is a cattle ranch. When it got very close I began to wonder if it was going to intrude, but thought it unlikely. Suddenly a huge moose head emerges about 8 feet away. Got my adrenaline going as I stumbled away from it. But it kept making these sounds that were like questions, it must have been curious. I decided to go back across the water and get my stuff and when I did it ran away. I came back to the studio and went out again in a different direction and did this drawing of cottonwoods with a watercolor crayon.
