From Mt. Tabor

1998.
It`s all coming together. Yesterday a snazzy exhaust system was installed, today full spectrum lighting. It glows and casts soft, faint shadows. Tomorrow I`m buying some functional new work tables and standing mats. I`ll open up my easel and actually use it for the big paintings I want to paint instead of being a drying rack for my running clothes. Then next week after I return from the coast, I can paint again. Really paint and forget time. I`m just in awe of having exactly what I hoped my adult life would have; I live in a garden with someone I love, painting whenever I`m able. Nice life, very lucky guy.

Black and White, 'Columbia'

Somewhere on a hike in the Gorge, I sat down and did a drawing that led to this painting many years later.
