My first impression is poetic mystery. I feel night coming on and a shiver. The lily is a nakid humanized lady bending over to a moon eclipsed by a pizza. Divergent forms are held together by the lighting duskin reds at the top and black at the bottom - a well composed red, yellow blue painting. There are some squigley lines like floaters in the eye and the lily flower is more solid than the volcanic rock. Malawi Moonrise must have a story I don't know about and it makes me uncomfortable like I am caught outdoors in an exotic place without protection.

Malawi Moonrise is more challengin to the viewer than sweet landscapes destined to decorate a wall.
