From the archive, 1998. This was a success in a period where that wasn`t so frequent. I was painting biomorphic abstractions which I found difficult to finish, I was not mature enough. So I returned to landscape.
We were at the coast this past weekend during a little window of sunshine. I stared at the horizon for a long time. That perfect line is one of the most profound sights to my imagination. A clear, unblinking reminder of all that is important. This series will continue.
This place provokes my interest when I walk up Lacamas Creek. I`ve drawn it, photographed it and painted it it twice. It always seems something is about to happen.
