This is another new painting I`ve been working on while I figure out how to proceed on my two long pieces. Oneanta is a gorge within the Columbia Gorge, not far from Portland. It is a landscape as archetype, Carl Jung would have loved it. Especially since you have to climb over a massive logjam to enter, and then walk through cold water to reach the lovely waterfall at the end. Years ago, I started to take my eight year old twin nieces, Liz and Steph, back there and wisely changed my mind. Although the stream is shallow, they weren`t very tall.

What an extraordinary place, and what an extraordinary painting of it!
How you paint water and what it reflects always leaves me almost startled, the effect is so natural. And you also capture in this something mysterious (dare I say, dark). "Archetype" is an apt choice of description indeed.
I could look and look and look again at this painting . Stunning.
This is a wonderful piece. What a wonderful place this must be in real life too...those greens, just gorgeous and the way you lead us through to the light...marvelous!!
Oh my. This place doesn't really exist. Those colors! That space, that depth on a page! Thankfully you brought it into being.

I know it's a cliche now, but when I saw this I actually said, "Oh, my god!" It's that beautiful, stunning, breathtaking, awe-inspiring. Whew! Going to look at it again and soak every bit up.
