Light in the Forest

From a tiny study done in 2008.
Last weekend two talented painters drove up from California to work with me. Specifically, me and Yupo. I have developed a way, maybe attitude, allowing for more control and versatility. I found it a worthy thing to do because as a long time watercolorist, I loved how the brilliant white surface shone through the paint. But, being plastic, it`s tricky. We had great fun and although I`m not a teacher, they said it was just like a workshop. I do know I talked a lot. Sometimes in conversation with other artists, I startle myself with the intensity of my opinions.

I'm sure your "students" received the benefit of your wonderful experience. I don't know anyone else who uses Yupo and gets the marvelous results you do.

I like this study. Where did it eventually take you?

Oops. My eye missed that word "From".

So, I'll turn the question around and ask if you can show us the "tiny study".

This is absolutely stunning. I wondered as Maureen asked about the tiny study. Thank you for sharing.
Best to you,

Oh, thanks for those kind words, "talented artists." Lyn and I spent yesterday getting rid of accumulated stuff and evicting daddy longlegs from our shared studio, which I'll continue today in order to have a better space to try out your suggestions. I see your paintings now, in nature, automatically, and it's like a conversation with you.

It brightens my day to have "Painter's Process" in my stack of emails. Light in the forest indeed.
