Until there is new work, another from the recent past.
My long time friend John is Director of Marketing and Sales at Cristom Wines. A couple of times I`ve gone up into to the vineyards while he was working, taking pictures, drawing, catching my breath and taking in the beautiful farming country of Marion County. The vines are planted on a very steep hill and the views from high up are vast. The flat lands below are so fertile, the topsoil is 12 feet deep in places!

I love the Diebenkorn perspective. But his are tipped, and yours are Tiptonned. Har har.
What a great opportunity to visit and take photos and spend time in the vineyards of your friend. Those well-chosen darks really bounce the eye around so it sees everything in a nice rhythm.
I am awed by this piece. I really enjoy all of your work but this has to be my favorite that so far. Literally makes me gasp/feel like I'm there. A-mazing!
An unusual composition for you, yet it's still so RT in the abstraction, color and feeling. At first I thought of Wayne Thiebaud's California landscapes (which I admire).
So masterful, Randall--love the abstracted reality. The compression of space reminds me of Diebenkorn, or Thiebaud.
