Alders, Meadow, Sky

John arrived today and we walked out Cascade Head. Such a spectacular vertical climb, it`s like hanging in the air! This oil was painted after walking the same hike the day after getting here. The alders are so gorgeous with their silver bark. The meadow is absolutely vast and the sky very close.

This is a very compelling composition. It really works for me. And they say never put your subject in the middle of a work. Who are "they"??

Oh yay! I loved this photo and hoped for a painting. The yellow meadow is glorious, the trees rule and the cloud rising behind says Oregon. Keep on keepin' on.
