From 2002.
This is the largest painting I`ve done in the smallest space, a bedroom.
Aspens in snow are a visual cliche thanks to
Bev Doolittle.
Yet having seen them in winter so often in New Mexico, I wanted to paint them anyway.
oil on canvas 60"x60"

Ms. Doolittle, eat your heart out! These might be my faves ever!
It's a home run.
Ah, yes, I remember her spotted horses hiding amongst the aspens! I'd say you made this one your own - it drew me right in when I saw it on the sidebar.
Wonderful and so much more than the Doolittle ones. Somehow you get the inner life of things.
Aspens aren't a cliche in your capable hands. Well done!
Very nice. This inspires me to get to work on a similar painting.
