Backwater Shore Study

In late November I revisited Minto Brown Park/Nature Preserve in Salem. This time it was sunny early in the day and later becoming overcast as I prefer. The place is teeming with colorful wetlands. I collected lots of source material that I`m just now studying. This is my first new effort.

This idea has become outdated

I don't care what Anonymous said, this is a gorgeous painting.

Painting is about the looking and the seeing, and what you do with paint after you have spent time looking and seeing is marvelous.

I know a number of very fine painters who take "process" photos or collect source material. That they do so does not translate into "studied" paintings or some actualization of an idea of what painting should be.

Your work speaks its own truths.
